Aynne Kokas

Aynne Kokas is an Assistant Professor of Media Studies at the University of Virginia as well as the Baker Institute non-resident scholar in Chinese Media at Rice University. Kokas is currently revising a book manuscript on Sino-U.S. media collaboration entitled "Shot in Shanghai: The Rise of Sino-US Media,” an earlier draft of which won the International Communication Association Award for Best Dissertation in Global Media and Social Change. Her research broadly focuses on Sino-US relations in the media and technology industries. In addition to entertainment media, Kokas is interested in the impact of media and technology companies on Sino-US trade and cybersecurity debates.
