Culture Digitally contributor Daren Brabham has accepted an assistant professor position in the public relations group at the Annenberg School for Communication & Journalism at University of Southern California. He returns to his roots in the West and joins a great group of scholars studying new media, including Mike Ananny, Henry Jenkins, Doug Thomas, Dmitry Williams and many others.
He spent three years as an assistant professor at University of North Carolina’s School of Journalism & Mass Communication. In that time, he won a research stipend from the IBM Center for the Business of Government, wrote a book on crowdsourcing for MIT Press, launched the journal Case Studies in Strategic Communication, and published 10 articles and chapters on crowdsourcing and other new media topics. On behalf of the Culture Digitally community congratulations for all the great work and we look forward to your continuing research and thinking.
